Who we are and what we do: The Tennessee Department of Correction operates and oversees 14 adult prisons across the state, housing some 21,000 offenders. In the community, TDOC supervises 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community corrections. The department operates 44 probation/parole offices in 13 districts across the state. The Tennessee Department of Correction operates safe and secure prisons and provides effective community supervision in order to enhance public safety. How you make a difference in this role: The STIU Unit Director directly supervises three (5) regional Special Agents and (4) Intelligence Analyst. Regular assignments include: Conduct investigations and field operations, to include interviews and searches at TDOC facilities with offenders. Assist other law enforcement agencies by providing information and assisting in criminal investigations related to TDOC interests Appear in court to give testimony Compile data and produce statistical reports In addition, this position is expected to be on call 24 hours / 7 days-a-week; nights/weekends/holidays, overnight stays, and must be able to respond immediately to major crimes and incidents, including unexpected overtime and potential overnight trips. Job Overview: The Security Threat Intelligence Unit Director position oversees the daily operations of the Security Threat Intelligence Unit (STIU) within the Office of Investigations and Conduct (OIC). This position reports to the Director of OIC and has oversight of Special Agents who possess statewide law enforcement authority and a forensic lab team of Intelligence Analyst. The STIU investigates and monitors gang activity within TDOC facilities. Minimum Qualifications:
