Assistant Controller

• Manage month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and payroll reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing monthly and annual financial statements.
• Prepare audit schedules, documentation, and reconciliations; respond to auditor requests and assist with final statements.
• Reconcile job costs, ensuring accurate allocation of labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment.
• Monitor project expenses, ensuring proper cost coding and alignment with budgets.
• Oversee revenue accounts and project billings, including retention, change orders, and unbilled revenue.
• Manage state tax filings and construction-related tax compliance.
• Oversee multi-state payroll, including union reporting, certified payroll, and prevailing wage compliance.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency.

• Strong accounting background with proven experience in construction or project-based accounting.
• Leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and develop staff effectively.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and driven to improve processes and ensure compliance.
