The Senior Quality Manager is responsible for guiding the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards, fostering product and process quality, and supporting compliance across manufacturing operations for electrical and mechanical components and finished goods at our West Union, SC manufacturing facility. This role nurtures improvement in nonconformance management, scrap reduction, rolled throughput yield (RTY) improvement, PFMEA development, and quality lab operations. The Senior Quality Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to encourage continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and contribute to business excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Support manufacturing quality operations with focus on scrap reduction, yield improvement, and defect prevention
  • Guide nonconformance management, root cause analysis, and site Quality System requirements.
  • Facilitate PFMEA development and risk mitigation for both existing and new processes
  • Oversee quality lab operations including testing and verification activities
  • Interpret production quality data to identify trends and drive improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and supply chain to deliver sustainable business results
  • Partner with Site Quality Managers globally to implement standard processes
  • Mentor and empower a team of quality engineers, technicians, and inspectors
  • Maintain and continually enhance the ISO 9001-compliant Quality Management System.
  • Coordinate internal audits, management reviews, and external audit readiness.
  • Ensure document control, training, and compliance across the organization.
  • Guide root cause analysis and 8D processes.
  • Review scrap and rework data to identify cost drivers and process inefficiencies.
  • Champion projects to reduce scrap and improve RTY across manufacturing lines.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) with risk-based quality planning.
  • Ensure labs maintain proper accreditation, equipment maintenance, and operator training.
  • Partner with customer and regulatory testing requirements.
  • Share regular reporting of key quality metrics (scrap, RTY, FPY, audit results, customer feedback).
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in quality management within manufacturing (electrical, mechanical, or related industries).
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS; ASQ CQE or CQM certification a plus.
  • Demonstrated success supporting and leading nonconformance reduction, scrap minimization, and RTY improvement.
  • Experience with PFMEA, root cause analysis, 8D, and risk management tools.
  • Knowledge of testing, calibration, and lab operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Quality, or Business Administration
  • ASQ certifications (CQE, CQM/OE, Six Sigma Black Belt, or Lean Six Sigma certification)
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries (ISO/TS 16949, AS9100, or similar)
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 13485, or other advanced quality standards beyond ISO 9001
  • Hands-on experience with statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), and advanced analytics (Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools)
  • Proven success collaborating on cross-site or global quality initiatives
  • Experience with new product introduction (NPI) and risk-based quality planning
  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement methodologies
