Registered Nurse (RN): Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited professional nursing program
- Current Minnesota Registered Nurse license
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
- ACLS certification (Northwest Clinic and Hospital locations only including the departments of Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Acute Care, Cardiology, Pain Management, and Pediatrics)
- Minimum of one year nursing experience preferred
Job Responsibilities: Practice of Professional Nursing includes but is not limited to:
- Provides a comprehensive assessment of the health status of a patient through the collection, analysis, and synthesis of data used to establish a health statue baseline and plan of care. The RN also addresses changes in the patient condition.
- Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and coordinate an integrated plan of care.
- Develops nursing interventions to be integrated into the plan of care.
- Implements nursing care through the execution of independent nursing actions.
- Implements interventions that are delegated, ordered, or prescribed by a licensed healthcare provider.
- Delegates nursing tasks or assigns nursing activities to implement the plan of care.

- Manages, supervises, and evaluates the practice of nursing.
- Maintains OMC organization competencies and nursing competencies pertinent to area of practice.
- Manages information in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Clinical Athletic Trainer (ATC): Qualifications:
- Master's degree in athletic training or related field required. Bachelor's degree will be accepted if received board certification prior to 2024 per BOC requirements.
- Current board certification
- Current Minnesota Athletic Trainer license (or eligible for licensure)
- Licensing Requirements: Athletic trainers in Minnesota must be licensed by the Board of Medical Practice. This involves completing a formal education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) and passing the national Board of Certification (BOC) exam.
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
- NAOT OTC certification preferred
- 1s Assist certification preferred
- Minimum one to three years' experience in the field of sports medicine/clinical athletic trainer role preferred
Job Responsibilities:
- Reviews charts and ancillary testing under the guidance of overseeing clinician.
- Takes patient history and performs physical exam according to the individual clinician preferences and organizational guidelines.
- Reviews history with new patients to ensure it is complete; update patient history on return patients.
- Orders appropriate imaging, physical therapy, and school notes per physician direction.
- Accompanies clinician during the patient visit according to their direction and take appropriate notes.
- Assists with patient education and follow-up.
- Completes documentation for patient visit.
- Represents OMC as an educator, professional in the community, and at conferences.
- Applies casting and splinting materials as needed.
- Aligns the needs to the organization with the services.
- Stays current with sports medicine practices.
- Uses various equipment including, but not limited to, hot/cold modalities, ultrasound, electrical stimulation as well as other equipment prescribed.
- Assists with post-surgical care.
- Assists with in-clinic procedures and ultrasound-guided injections.
- Fits and measures a variety of casts, braces, and splints.
- Reacts to emergency situations.
- Sports coverage as assigned.
- Surgical assist as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing
- Current Minnesota LPN license required
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
- Previous clinic experience preferred
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts a focused assessment of the health status of an individual patient through the collection and comparison of data to normal findings and the individual patient's current health status.
- Reports changes in health status and responses to interventions in an ongoing manner to a registered nurse or the appropriate licensed healthcare provider for delegated or assigned tasks.
- Participates with other healthcare providers in the development and modification of a plan of care.
- Determines and implements appropriate interventions within a nursing plan of care or when delegated or assigned by a registered nurse.

Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (CMA / RMA): Qualifications:
- Completion of Medical Assistant program
- Required to be a Certified (CMA) or Registered MA (RMA)
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
- Previous clinic experience preferred
Job Responsibilities:
- Participates in the care of the patient, under the direct supervision of the physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, or certified nurse practitioner, and in collaboration with the RN and healthcare team.
- Greets and welcomes patients. Escorts patients to exam rooms.
- Collects and documents patient information, clinical data, and other relevant information such as vital signs, height/weight, allergies, active medication list, chief complaint, pain score, current symptoms, and registry updates.
- Confirms and clarifies orders prior to implementation of delegated tasks.
- Prepares, administers, and documents oral and injectable medications and vaccines, per provider orders.
- May not give IM RhoGam or IM Narcotics.
- Collects, prepares, and processes laboratory specimens for testing.
- Performs, prepares for, and assists with taking x-rays, based on competency
- Performs, prepares for, and assists with in-office procedures such as EKGs. Schedules procedures, referrals, and specialty services and testing.
- Maintains and uses principles of aseptic techniques and infection control when performing clinical duties and tasks.
- Provides and reinforces appropriate age-specific patient education, health information materials, and community resources, as directed. Identifies patient's need for additional information and refers to RN.
- Performs time-sensitive delegated tasks, which includes, but not limited to, requests for prescription refills per protocols and EHR messages.
- Works with healthcare team to assure smooth and efficient patient flow and clinical operation.
- Orders, stocks, and maintains exam rooms, special order items, and supply storage areas using par levels of supplies, medications, linens, forms, and equipment. Monitors expiration dates and takes action accordingly. Recognizes usage trends affecting unit supplies and makes recommendations for adjustments.
- Maintains OMC organization and nursing competencies pertinent to area of practice.
- Manages information in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned within scope of practice and demonstrated competency
Clinical Assistant (CA): Qualifications:
- Prior computer experience required
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- General knowledge of Accounts Receivable
- Vital sign measurement (training available)
- CNA experience preferred
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Greets patients, caregivers, and visitors to the department in a professional and friendly manner.
- Completes basic rooming standards per departmental guidelines such as obtaining height, weight, temperature, and blood pressure.
- Ensures accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Prepares patients for examination and procedures.
- Helps clinician or clinical support staff during patient exams or minor procedures.
- Cleans and restocks exam rooms.
- May order department supplies.
- Registers patients, sets up insurance, and verifies demographics each time a patient arrives at the clinic.
- Assists with processing patient paperwork, forms, and referrals.
- May schedule and verify patient appointments.
- Attends education and training seminars.
- Maintains a safe work environment and complies with standards for safe practice and standard precautions.
- Other duties as assigned.
