Overview
The responsibilities of this position include overseeing the investigation and resolution of discrepancies, errors, and disputes related to financial transactions, accounts, or operational processes. This position supports the Manager and supervises a team, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Responsibilities
Provide daily guidance and support to ensure all functions and duties are completed timely, efficiently, and accurately, such as account balancing and reconciliation, research request fulfillment, IRA technical support, IRS tax levy and adjustment inquiry processing
- Prepare and review weekly aging reports to monitor aged items and encourage associates to follow up on outstanding entries to minimize charge-offs
- Compile and evaluate monthly productivity reports to assess fluctuations in productivity and pinpoint potential incentive opportunities or areas for improvement
- Support associate career development to enhance performance, facilitate succession planning, and contribute to the achievement of strategic departmental goals
- Promote a fair and equitable work environment where all associates are valued and given equal opportunities
- Interview job candidates and provide adequate training for the position once hired
- Communicate with other bank associates, business entities, and financial institutions to establish relationships for escalating and expediting issues, exceptions, and requests for resolution
- Plan and implement procedural changes as well as system and operational updates
- Back up all department functions and duties in the absence of the manager
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least six years of experience in financial services or related fields
- Prior background in leading and managing people with the ability to develop human-centered management skills to foster culture and connection in a hybrid team
- Working knowledge of Deposit Operations, bank operations, and industry
- Basic understanding of the check clearing system through the Federal Reserve and other banks
- Adequate knowledge of the deposit system, reporting applications, and the general ledger
- Solid math and accounting skills with knowledge of balancing and reconciling procedures
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to motivate, train, and supervise associates while performing day-to-day duties and responsibilities
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to learn quickly, meet strict deadlines, and adhere to policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and instructions
- Basic computer, calculator, and Microsoft 365 skills (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Ability to create accurate and detailed reports to monitor productivity, aging items, and charge-offs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- People-oriented with customer focus
- Ability to identify improvements in daily processes, consult with management on recommended changes, then assist with implementing the solution preferred
- Thorough understanding of Research & Adjustments processes and functions preferred
