A Day In The Life
The Senior Manager, Enterprise & Corporate Accounting under the leadership of the Director, Corporate Accounting will support the day-to-day accounting process, budgeting and forecasting, and enterprise reporting for both internal and external stakeholders for the sports vertical within TFG while also playing a key role in strategic initiatives of the enterprise. The Senior Manager, Accounting will be responsible for ensuring that all financial data is recorded accurately and timely in accordance with accounting and financial reporting standards and company policy, as well as reviewing and enforcing internal controls to protect company assets. The Senior Manager, Accounting will also be responsible for acquisition and complex transaction accounting related to new investments across the sports vertical and will also sponsor, direct, coordinate, and/or support other ad hoc accounting projects across the enterprise, with a focus on data governance initiatives and implementing enterprise tax strategies. Further, the Sr. Manager will be responsible for developing and executing on delivering complete and accurate financial reports to both internal and external stakeholders. No immediate direct reports but the opportunity to lead up to two associates in the future.

As a Sr Mgr, Enterprise & Corporate Accounting you will:

  • Responsible for acquisition and complex transaction accounting related to new investments across the sports vertical.
  • Develop a transition plan to onboard ongoing accounting and finance operations within TFG related to the sports vertical.
  • Lead initial and ongoing consolidation workstream related to the sports vertical.
  • Sponsoring, directing, coordinating, and supporting other ad hoc accounting projects across the enterprise with a focus on data governance initiatives and implementing enterprise tax strategies.
  • Execute a monthly close of the general ledger for the sports vertical, including maintenance of the close schedule.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, including recurring entries, for monthly close.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts in a timely fashion, including intercompany balances; dispose of reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Maintain well-documented workpapers for journal entries and account reconciliations. As part of the reconciliation process, review the reasonableness of balance sheet and income statement accounts in order to determine that all necessary entries have been recorded.
  • Support the creation and capturing of annual and multi-year balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow budgets to be captured within the ERP.
  • Compare the actual results to the budgeted results and provide variance explanations on a monthly basis.
  • Analyze monthly and year-end financial data to ensure that it is recorded accurately, in accordance with relevant accounting and financial reporting standards.
  • Develop, review and ensure distribution of standard, recurring monthly, quarterly or annual financial reports to business units.
  • Translate and communicate results to numerous stakeholders, including providing a monthly financial reporting package to internal and external business unit customers, and supporting evolving enterprise shareholder reporting initiatives.
  • Lead system implementations related to the sports vertical. Must have an innovation focused mind set to lead and ensure rapid adoption of new technologies within the sports vertical.
  • Comply with accounting, tax, and regulatory policies that affect TFG, business units, and the affiliated companies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors
  • Review schedules to support tax preparation efforts.
  • Interpret FASB or other authoritative accounting pronouncements that affect the affiliated TFG Group. Perform or delegate analysis and research of new pronouncements, technological advancements, or operations and provide recommendations to management.
  • Review internal controls; ensure that systems, processes, procedures and policies protect company assets.
  • Set a good example for other associates and coach other associates and teammates to improve their productivity and performance.
  • Collaborates with co-workers and TFG leaders to leverage knowledge and experience to improve processes, procedures, and the work environment in order to eliminate inefficient and ineffective processes and procedures.

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's Degree Four-year college or university. Req
  • 10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required and
  • The candidate will have public accounting experience. Additional industry experience preferred, but not required. Required and
  • Previous managerial experience and related month-end close experience and enterprise reporting experience. Required
  • Ability to lead without authority by leveraging relationship building skills across a variety of functions and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strengths in applying authoritative accounting guidance (US GAAP, IFRS, country specific GAAP) to complex accounting transactions and matters, and to report findings to various levels within the organization, including the Executive Leadership team.
  • Agility in managing multiple projects and deliverables in parallel.
  • Critical financial thinking skills.
  • Business acumen.
  • Professional curiosity and a desire to innovate and continually improve systems and business processes.
  • Assist in defining and documenting control processes and procedures where applicable.

  • Ability to create clear and accurate financial reports.
  • Ability to apply extensive know-how of technical accounting and financial reporting standards.
  • Understanding of monthly financials and variance analysis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior staff.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Physical and Environmental RequirementsThe physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.

Travel Requirements
20% The associate is occasionally required to travel to other sites, including out-of-state, where applicable, for business.
