Bringing Home the Dough

Position handles the day-to-day duties required of all of the logistics of Flowers Snack customers from the Crossville DC along with Walmart frozen deliveries from Laurel Grocery. In addition, this person will route the cake deliveries to Flowers DSD bakeries. The objective is to maximize equipment utilization of inbound and outbound trucks within the network of Flowers cake division while minimizing transportation expenses and provide great service to our customers.

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

* Address any unsolved opportunities on customer deliveries
* Maintain relationship with dedicated and one-way carriers
* Route Day 1 and Day 4 Warehouse Cake orders
* Tender routes to carriers
* Utilize dedicated equipment to backhaul inter-company shipments to the DC
* Backhaul ingredients and packaging for cake plants
* Adjust shipping times to meet production and carrier needs
* Route Laurel Frozen Day 1 Cake shipments
* Tender Laurel Frozen Routes
* Route Day 1 and Day 4 DSD Cake orders from Crossville bakery
* Route Day 1 ad Day 4 Cake orders from Tastykake Philadelphia
* Coordinates 400+ weekly inbound loads from plants to Crossville DC
* Coordinates 270+ weekly outbound loads to customers from 5 shipping Snack facilities
* Coordinates 40 ingredient/packaging backhaul loads back to producing plants
* Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Sarbanes - Oxley, Safety, etc.)
* Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adhere to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.

Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications

* Minimum 3 years of shipping and relay experience and have knowledge of sales needs.

* Bachelor's degree in operations, logistics or other supply chain management related field.
