Summary:
The Patient Relations Coordinator I manages patient complaints and grievances in a timely and collaborative manner with proper documentation, ensures that patients are kept informed while complaints are processed, maintains a system for tracking patient complaints and reporting to regulatory agencies as appropriate, and helps enhance patient and family experience by serving as a resource and collaborating on improvement projects.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: At least five years of relevant healthcare experience required.
  4. Knowledge of CMS regulations about patient complaints and grievances preferred
  5. Familiarity with performance improvement tools and concepts, e.g., plan-do-study-act, preferred
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite or equivalent preferred
  7. Familiarity with electronic health records preferred
  8. Effective verbal and written communication skills
  9. Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
  10. Collaborative and team oriented
