Engineering Technician I
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for an Engineering Technician I who will be a key support to space modifications, installation, and sustainment of infrastructures.

Job Description:
- Responsible for the Lifecycle of the shore-site training systems.
- The Engineering Technician, under close supervision, performs routine tasks required to build US Naval Switchboards, switches for the switchboards, IAW detailed drawings and specifications. The technician will also be required to operate hand tools such as wire crimpers, soldering irons, etc. and be able to operate a forklift. The technician follows established policies and procedures to ensure proper working order of the assigned product.
- The technician is required to review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain specifications, material requirements, procedures, objectives, test equipment safety requirements, nature of technical problem and possible solutions such as parts redesign, substitution of material or parts, or rearrangement of parts or subassemblies.
The technician will be required to travel to US Naval ships both in the 50 US States and foreign countries to assist the customer with inspection and repair of switches and switchboards including wiring and cabling. - Performs modifications as required including but not limited to; space modifications, the installation and sustainment of infrastructures such as hardware, foundations, cabling (copper and fiber optic), connector installation, false decking and overhead, deck covering, IT Systems, electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and electronic cooling water piping.
- Responsible for shipboard training systems to perform modifications as required including but not limited to system grooms and overhauls, support with equipment maintenance and training, troubleshooting, and equipment repair including hardware, software and cabling, and logistic support.
- Generate and execute procedures in support of shore-site facility activations, upgrades, and repairs.
- Read and follow schematics and maintaining assembly instructions associated with Government-built prototype equipment and development of schematics, drawings, and TDPs.
- Perform the installation and initial verification of equipment and cables installed in the facility.
- Maintain records (engineering or administrative) data such as tests, drawings, computer usage, Quality Assurance etc.; performs computations by substituting numbers in specified formulas; plot data and draw simple curves and graphs.
- Follow established policies and procedures to ensure proper working order.
- Assist in field or production activities such as data collection, equipment or machine design, testing, quality control and efficiency studies.
Qualifications:
- Must have a High School or equivalent and appropriate Trade School or related Armed Forces School and at least 3 years of related experience.
- Must have experience in engineering studies and analysis of actual and/or proposed shore-site installations.
- Must be able to perform facility visits to verify dimensions, interfaces, power availability, tolerances, and other installation factors.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current or recent experience supporting U.S. Naval aircraft carriers or other U.S. Naval vessels embedded Training Systems
Security Requirements:
- Must have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel up to 50 % of the time.
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Communicating with others to exchange information and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- May require climbing up/down ship ladders and enclosed spaces.
- Protective clothing or equipment and face shields or goggles shall be worn when welding, cutting, or working with molten metal.
