About This Role:

iRhythm is seeking a System Test Engineer to join our team working on innovative cardiac monitoring devices. In this role, you'll help ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of our wearable device and its supporting software and infrastructure. You'll collaborate across engineering teams, design and run tests, and play a key role in delivering high-quality products that improve patient lives.

This position is located in San Francisco, CA, and the role is hybrid, requiring you to be in the office as needed to use hardware and electrical lab equipment.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform system-level testing of our cardiac monitoring device and supporting software applications.
  • Design and execute manual tests to verify that the product meets requirements and functions as intended.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Manufacturing) to define test strategies and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Document and communicate test results clearly, ensuring findings are traceable and actionable.
  • Investigate product issues, replicate field failures, and verify fixes before release.
  • Contribute to improving test methods, tools, and processes for greater efficiency and coverage.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, plus 3+ years of relevant experience (or Master's with 1+ year).
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, etc.) and troubleshooting across hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex system issues.
  • Effective communicator who can work independently or within cross-functional teams.

Bonus Points:

  • Prior experience in medical devices or another regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with standards-based manual testing approaches (e.g., executing documented protocols, compliance with FDA/ISO guidelines, and formal test reporting).
  • Scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, SQL) and familiarity with software development processes

Actual compensation may vary depending on job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.

Estimated Pay Range

$104,000.00 - $130,000.00
