Summary/Objective:

To perform technical duties within the fields of aquatic biology, water quality, natural resource management, and environmental sciences for all areas of work assigned. Development of technical competence in these areas will be a primary goal. Position requires the ability to exercise professional judgment; good written and verbal communication skills; and computer skills.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform fieldwork including soil, groundwater, surface water, and air sampling.
  • Support the installation, operation, and maintenance of monitoring wells and remediation systems.
  • Assist with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
  • Accurately document field activities, maintain field logs, and prepare technical reports.
  • Compile and analyze environmental data to support project deliverables.
  • Work in compliance with company health and safety policies and all applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and scientists to deliver high-quality work


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in environmental consulting or related work (internships welcome).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). (preferred)
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and guidance (EPA, state-specific). (preferred)
  • GIS or environmental data management software experience. (preferred)

  • Sound technical knowledge of computer accessories and hardware
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and SQL database management systems
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate data to spot trends and draw conclusions
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Alliance's products and industry is considered a plus


Physical Demands:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods and the use of hands to finger is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
  • Exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force is rare. While performing the duties of this job, good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, and copiers is needed. The employee is occasionally required to stand. Exposure to extreme environmental conditions or industrial hazards is not applicable.
