TSC is seeking a Quality Control Electronics Inspector Level III in Huntsville, AL. This position supports the Radar & Precision Weapons Development Operation. Occasional assignments at our Production Center may also be required.

Responsibilities:

This position requires a flexible individual with experience in inspecting parts purchased from suppliers and higher-level electronic assemblies built in-house. Inspection will include documenting results and seeking disposition of nonconforming parts when necessary. This position prefers an individual who promotes continual improvement; and can perform at high-levels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. As part of the Quality team, other quality duties may be assigned.

  • Conduct incoming inspection of printed wiring boards (PWBs), printed wiring assemblies (PWAs), and cable assemblies
  • Conduct incoming inspection of parts bought from unauthorized distributors to ensure parts are not counterfeit
  • Conduct in-process and final inspection of electronic and cable assemblies
  • Conduct conformal coating inspection of printed wiring assemblies (PWAs)
  • Log inspection results to track metrics
  • Document and process nonconforming parts to ensure containment and proper disposition
  • Support first piece and first article inspection per AS9102 and source inspections, as required
  • Create material return notices to initiate return of damaged, defective, etc. parts to suppliers
  • Perform part marking inspection

Required Qualifications:

  • Certified to J-Standard, IPC-A-600, and IPC-A-610 standards
  • Be or be able to obtain IPC-A-620 Certification
  • Experience with reading and understanding complex engineering drawings
  • Ability to use microscope, calipers, and other inspection tooling
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Accurately maintain company records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Associate degree, in related field, with 3 years of electronics inspection experience, or 5 years of electronics inspection experience in manufacturing environment
  • Work independently in a fast-paced environment and get along with others
  • Organized and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 Quality Management Systems, strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of PLM, PDM, and configuration control process
  • Knowledge of Costpoint to enter quality inspection results, strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of solder joint characteristics, printed circuit board assembly processing tools and materials
  • Experience working in a quality team environment with suppliers, engineers, and program managers
