Managing Director, Relationship Management

What We Need

We are looking for a Managing Director, Relationship Management to join Element Fleet Management. As the largest pure-play fleet manager in the world, we provide unmatched products and services and solutions to our clients.

In this role, the MD will lead the Strategic Relationship Management initiatives focusing on 1) Client retention, relationship elevation, re-sell activities and increase overall client loyalty, 2) Grow the portfolio with a combination of VUM addition, increased service penetration and value-based pricing, and 3) Partner closely with stakeholders across the enterprise to elevate the overall client experience (NPS>50) and enable the streamlining of end-end process for operational excellence.

The MD will lead a team of Relationship Managers (executing with Commercial Operating Discipline), engage with client executives as a trusted advisor and with internal stakeholders with an enterprise mindset.

Incumbent must have a deep understanding of the business operating process, the offer of products and services and demonstrated leadership in elevating client relationships for mutual benefit and/or successfully led sales or relationship management teams.

  • Develop and execute the operating plan for the portfolio, with objectives and scope stated above while ensuring a superior, consistent client experience.
  • Supporting document management tasks as needed to facilitate smooth operations

A Day in the Life

  • Transaction Validation and Documentation. Ensure all vehicle title transactions
    meet state-specific requirements by validating data and attaching necessary
    documents in the Title Quest system.
  • Influence key stakeholders within Element: Partner with key stakeholders to deliver strategic value to clients. This position must have a deep understanding of all internal systems and processes to facilitate solutions of escalated issues and problems. Must be effective in solving problems at all levels within the organization.
  • Develop and execute the operating plan for the portfolio, with objectives and scope stated above while ensuring a superior, consistent client experience.

Capabilities

Profit Shaping: Ensure that clients realize desired value from Element and translate that to value-based pricing.

Role Model: Lead with the execution of Element Values as a role model and with an enterprise mindset

Team Developer: Coach and develop the team for sustained outperformance by attracting / developing talent while also ensuring rigorous performance management and accountability

Experience and Requirements

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience and preferably have led teams in the past
  • Undergraduate degree required and Master's degree or similar preferred
  • Experience within the financing / leasing industry, vehicle management or an asset-related industry
  • Availability to travel greater than 25-50% of the time
  • Ability to create a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment within and outside Element

Competencies

  • Track record of exceeding objectives in growth, client retention and delivering superior client experiences
  • Financial knowledge that includes lease, rates, terms, financial statements
  • Work with a high level of urgency, teamwork, team development
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written), influencing and relationship building skills
  • World class negotiation skills with a proven track record of success.

The hiring base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $190,000 USD annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
