The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Gallitto Lab is actively seeking a part-time Technician A for our translational research team. Our laboratory uses novel techniques such as focused ultrasound and convection-enhanced delivery to overcome the blood-brain barrier to treat pediatric brain tumors. We have a robust cell culture and mouse pipeline and are actively using data generated from the laboratory to design phase I clinical trials.

Responsibilities

The incumbent will have an opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a dynamic, supportive environment. Have a platform to contribute meaningfully to high-impact studies that can directly translate to clinical trials. Additionally, they will have hands-on mentorship to further develop your research skills.

Duties include but are not limited to:



  • Preparing materials for and assisting in experiments
  • Performing simple experiments according to written protocols
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Preparing cell culture, western blotting, PCR
  • Manage mouse colonies
  • Learn and perform in vivo techniques
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Requires at least two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis on chemistry, biology, physics, or related science or equivalent in education, training and experience.
  • Commitment, reliability, and a collaborative mindset.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Wet lab experience (e.g., cell culture, western blotting, PCR). Mouse experience is preferred for in vivo studies.
