What to Expect
This person will work as a member of Tesla's Engineering Test Team to support componentand system level testing of seating systemsfrom concept through program release.This personwouldwork well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.

What You'll Do
  • Own and drive hardware validation efforts forSemi truck seating systems, including strength, abuse, and fatigue cycling, environmental endurance testing, and electro-mechanical durability testing
  • Write and maintain test software scripts using Python to automate test execution, data collection and data analysis
  • Design and build custom test fixtures to make validation efficient, modular and repeatable, leveraging in-house fabrication resources when applicable
  • Manage tests from setup through execution and reporting, including test planning, development, execution, inspections, root cause analysis, and data processing
  • Ensure test findings are well-documented and quickly communicated to cross-functional teams, root cause test failures and work with design partners, failure analysis lab, and reliability teams to arrive at a corrective action
  • Develop and maintain validation schedules, coordinate test resources, provide direction to engineering technicians, and communicate testing status/blockers to program managers

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical orMechatronics Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience using standard lab and test equipment like power supplies, DMMs, NI DAQs, load cells, torque transducers, pressure transducers, thermocouples, strain gages,etc.
  • Experience with automotive seating systems, including A-surface materials, internal mechanisms, and the assembly process is preferred
  • Previous experience with hardware validation, DFMEAs, risk assessments, and characterization of failure modes is preferred
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming, preferably Python, for test automation and data post-processing
  • Design experience with CAD software such as CATIA or SOLIDWORKS
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

    Expected Compensation
    $80,000 - $174,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
