What to Expect
As an Electrical Construction Project Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and executing electrical construction projects from start to finish. You will collaborate closely with the design team, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure successful project completion on time, within budget, and according to specifications. Your technical expertise, organizational skills, and ability to communicate effectively will be crucial as you coordinate and facilitate various aspects of the construction process.
What You'll Do
- Oversee electrical systems and energization across all phases of construction, ensuring work is completed according to safety guidelines and quality standards
- Track site execution, inspections, and contractor quality control to ensure compliance with internal Quality Assurance and commissioning procedures
- Expedite solutions to design clashes in collaboration with the design team, and address any foreseeable issues by field-verifying conditions against contract documents
- Monitor project costs and compare actual expenses to the budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities and recommending value engineering alternatives
- Review, generate, and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) and Submittals; track contractor invoices and manage project schedules based on project documents
- Lead project buy-out, including developing bid packages, working with procurement to issue RFPs, writing contracts and scopes of work, and issuing work orders
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and local codes, while maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders, including contractors, Design/Engineering teams, and QA/Commissioning
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience in commercial construction, project management, or engineering
- Experience managing projects in large manufacturing plants, industrial environments, or similar sectors
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction practices, codes, regulations, and safety protocols
- Ability to solve complex problems, multitask effectively, and prioritize project objectives
- Willingness to work long hours, with a tenacious and ambitious approach to project goals
- Experience with large-scale EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) projects and a Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus
