Overview:

This role requires travel between the Outpatient Psychiatry clinics. Main areas of operation include Main Campus, Behavioral Health Pavilion, and two Schrock Road locations in Westerville Ohio. Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

This role has both direct care and administrative responsibilities. The schedule may vary depending on department need but will mostly reflect the working hours of Tuesday - Friday 0800-1630 (32h/week)

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates and trains medical assistants in the clinic. Serves as a subject matter expert for the team.
  • Ensures that medical equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
  • Coordinates patient care with other healthcare providers.
  • Monitors inventory of medical supplies and orders as needed.
  • Assists with patient exams and procedures as necessary.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for patients.

Education Requirement:

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, required.

Licensure Requirement:

Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Certifications:

CPR certified (American Heart Association Heart saver with pediatric content) course, or Health Care Provider course or Red Cross equivalent, required.

Skills:

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Computer familiarity and literacy with general data entry.
  • Ability to learn and be proficient with specific computer programs, systems, and Electronic Medical Record documentation.

Experience:

Three years of medical assisting experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting, required.
