The Johns Hopkins Hospital's Pediatric Emergency Department (PED) is looking for skilled nurses to join our team in providing exceptional care to children and young adults. Our 32-bed Level 1 trauma and burn center serves pediatric patients across Maryland up to their 15th birthday, while also offering emergency care for children from birth to age 22, including those followed in our nationally ranked subspecialty clinics. Additionally, our PED features a specialized mental health suite staffed by nurses and techs from our psychiatry department and functions as a regional referral center for child maltreatment.

Position Details:

Role: Pediatric Emergency Department Nurse

Shifts: 12-hour rotating shifts (11a-11p, 1p-1a, 3p-3a, 7p-7a), every third weekend



Responsibilities:

Provide family-centered emergency care, perform assessments, support stabilization and treatment, assist with mental health crises, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet the diverse needs of our young patients.



Qualifications:

Associate's Degree in Nursing required. Applicants with an Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited program may be considered if enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within one year of hire and completing the degree within five years.

Active Maryland or Compact RN license required.

BLS CPR certification required.

Minimum of one year of RN experience required. Preferred experience in emergency, pediatric, or critical care nursing.

Salary Range: Minimum 36.31/hour - Maximum 56.28/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
