DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Field Investigator, you will conduct furlough investigations and criminal records checks on all furlough sponsors. You will be tasked with maintaining detailed case files, preparing comprehensive reports, and drafting correspondence to judges and facilities that include investigative findings. Additionally, you will keep a logbook and liaise with various agencies to address any concerns regarding the furlough requests of re-entrants. Your role will also involve identifying potential issues and providing recommendations to staff on furlough matters, as well as reporting any suspicious, threatening, or non-compliant behaviors that may arise.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hour work week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week with approval once your training period has been completed. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Jenkintown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in public contact work, including two years of experience in field investigation or law enforcement work; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
