DESCRIPTION OF WORK

A Quality Assurance Officer plays a crucial role in overseeing and conducting audits of inspection stations, ensuring adherence to established regulations and protocols within the safety inspection program. This position requires the individual to possess a valid driver's license, enabling travel across a designated geographic area. During audits, the officer not only evaluates compliance but also acts as a frontline defender against fraudulent activities, identifying and reporting any irregularities encountered. Throughout the audit process, the officer provides both technical and administrative support to facilitate program compliance, ensuring that all necessary guidelines are met.

In addition to conducting audits, the Quality Assurance Officer manages a substantial caseload, offering guidance to inspectors involved in the audited programs while coordinating the complex daily operations within their assigned region. This role involves performing administrative audits on safety inspection stations to verify that established processes and procedures are being adhered to, in accordance with regulatory standards and the Vehicle Code. The officer is tasked with reviewing and analyzing station records, validating the security and proper use of inspection certificates, and maintaining the integrity of the safety inspection program.

Furthermore, the officer conducts investigative audits-both overt and covert-working independently and in collaboration with law enforcement agencies. This includes performing thorough safety re-inspections on vehicles to confirm their operational safety and addressing any complaints from law enforcement or customers regarding vehicle inspections.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch
  • This position is assigned to the following counties Clarion, Elk, Forest, Venango and Warren. Selected candidate must live in one of the assigned counties or surrounding counties or being willing to relocate to this area.
  • This position may require overtime as needed.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in an automotive repair related field such as: service writer/advisor; technical manual writer; automotive tool and equipment salesman/serviceman; auto mechanic; or auto shop foreman and a high school diploma; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:
  • This position requires possession of a Pennsylvania Safety Mechanics Certification within 90 days of the date of employment.
Additional Requirement:
  • You must possess a Class C non-commercial driver's license.
  • This position is assigned to: Clarion, Elk, Forest, Venango, and Warren Counties. The selected candidate must reside in one of the assigned counties or surrounding counties or be willing to relocate to this area.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
