Salary Range: $20.17 - $24.27

SUMMARY:

Lubricate and maintain equipment. Inspect equipment and identify preventative maintenance needs. Communicate with co-workers and operators about problems. Keep daily maintenance logs and maintain records on all service of equipment. Craftsman or Master Craftsman can relieve this position.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:



  • Basic Ability to Read, Write and communicate in English.
  • Ability to use numbers to add, Subtract, Multiply and Divide.
  • Thirty days experience


LANGUAGE SKILLS:



  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence in English
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of Tree Top.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to comprehend instruction and laboratory oil analysis reports.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:



  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:



  • Driver's License


TECHNOLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • GMP-training and understanding of standards
  • HAZCOM
  • MSDS

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to fix machines, distance vision to observe lines, peripheral vision for safety--watch for moving parts and head way, depth perception for adjusting equipment, and the ability to adjust focus to fix machines.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is/or could be exposed to:
  • Extreme heat, moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, electrical shock, high precarious positions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, all weather conditions, vibrations, and loud noise.


The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices.

It is the responsibility of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to personnel with the authority to initiate action against these said possible risks. The Organization chart indicated key personnel with the authority to take action.

  1. Lubricate Equipment as Required:



  • Grease Bearings
  • Lubricate chains
  • Add or Change oil in gearboxes as instructed
  • Add or Change oil in oil reservoirs as instructed
  • Inspect used oil and report possible problems
  • Prepare the area for maintenance
  • Take oil samples and send out for analysis
  • Document findings on Work Order



  1. Maintain Equipment:



  • Assist mechanics as required
  • Prevent breakdowns by monitoring equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks and procedures
  • Adjust packing, Belts, Chains, Conveyors as needed



  1. Communicate:



  • Talk to mechanics coming on and leaving shift
  • Log parts removed from parts area
  • Receive instructions and information from supervisors
  • Communicate with co-workers re: process needs
  • Complete log entries as required
  • Fill out maintenance records
  • Complete shift reports daily
  • Complete time sheets daily
  • Learn processes and needs from co-workers
  • Complete Assigned Work Orders in a timely manner.
  • Train new team members as required



  1. Learn New Techniques, Methods and Assist in Parts Requisition:



  • Demonstrate willingness to learn new techniques
  • Use new procedures on equipment
  • Receive on the job training in technical classes
  • Learn part requisition process
  • Inventory Lubricants and keep storage tanks full
  • Sign out materials used



  1. Maintain a Clean, Safe Work Area:



  • Sweep floors and remove debris
  • Keep work area clean and rinse when necessary
  • Follow proper cleaning procedures: cover photo eyes, motors and electrical components etc.
  • Follow proper handling procedures when working with chemicals
  • Follow- Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Annual Master Sanitation Schedules
  • Maintains area of responsibility to meet GMP standards
  • Follow LOTO (lock out/ tag out) procedures when necessary
  • Observe Confined Space Entry Procedures.
  • Observe Hot Work Permit Procedures.
  • Observe Emergence Evacuation Procedures
  • Observe Hazardous Material Policies
