POSITION SUMMARYJoin U.S. Venture's growing Security team! As a Senior Security Analyst, this role will safeguard the enterprise infrastructure, applications and information assets across the organization. The Senior Security Analyst is responsible for all aspects of information technology security including servers, network, desktop, application development, and operational technologies. This is a hands on role requiring the implementation, maintenance and configuration of enterprise security initiatives.

The position requires in-depth knowledge of current security practices, standards, regulations, and technologies. Additionally, the Senior Security Analyst develops and maintains required standards to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility to systems and databases. The individual filling this role needs to have a strong ability to implement auditing controls in disparate applications and the design and maintenance of identity management systems and they should be skilled in the technical administration of complex systems and applications and incident investigation, to include audit log review. This role also counsels and guides other staff regarding policies, procedure and generally accepted security practices.

This position will be located at our Corporate Office in Appleton, WI with in-office expectations four days/week (Monday - Thursday) with Fridays as an optional in-office or work from home day, depending on business need. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the development, testing and implementation of security plans, products and control techniques
  • Establish, execute and promote company-wide information security standards, guidelines, risk mitigation strategies and best practices
  • Proactively implement, maintain, manage, monitor, and support enterprise network and systems security infrastructure
  • Perform change control and device configuration management activities on all security solutions
  • Provide management level reporting of firewall and Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) activity on a regular basis
  • Participate in security incident response team activities, providing and implementing tactical risk mitigation to incidents
  • Proactively protect the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of customer, employee, and business information
  • Ensure that security tools and techniques implemented maintain a highly satisfactory and efficient end user experience
  • Maintain appropriate virus protection and other endpoint protection solutions
  • Lead the tactical and operational planning of vulnerability assessment activities, including threat management monitoring and mitigation response
  • Mentor other staff members regarding policies, procedures and generally accepted security practices

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology plus 10 years infrastructure and operations experience, 5 or more years with a focus on security. In lieu of the degree, will consider equivalent work experience
  • Possess security certifications (CISSP, CCNA Security, etc)
  • Must have advanced working knowledge of various security technologies including but not limited to:
    • Desktop and server operating systems
    • Application, E-Commerce, website security controls
    • System authentication, authorization and accounting frameworks
    • Firewalls and network access controls
    • Security awareness and education programs
    • PCI or similar security standards and frameworks
    • Security analytics and SIEM tools
  • Must also have a mature understanding of tools and techniques used by hackers
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to stay current on new and emerging security techniques and technologies
  • Available on an on-call basis when needed
  • Available for off-hours work on a scheduled basis
  • Ability to set short range plans and adjust direction as needed
  • Excellent communication, customer service, problem solving and analytical skills
