At CESO, a Lead Electrical Engineer performs a wide variety of technical assignments requiring the application of standard engineering design techniques for small, intermediate, or large projects and completes all necessary tasks on assigned projects so projects finish on time, within budget and consistent with industry production and care standards. The Lead Engineer mentors and supports team members, fostering professional growth and collaboration, while also reviewing and approving engineering deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and consistency.
Primary Responsibilities
    • Proactively mentor and coach junior staff, senior team members and other engineers across teams or practices, provide technical oversight and guidance (document production, submittal review, etc.).
    • Lead projects or programs from concept through completion.
    • Communicate design requirements and assist project managers with project coordination and facilitation between architects, contractors, other engineers, equipment manufacturer representatives, and other team members to determine project scope and feasibility.
    • Perform calculations, design advanced building systems, guide team(s) to prepare design documents through coordination with project teams and multiple disciplines, and ensure document production quality meets scope, schedule and budget.
    • Oversee the quality review process, regularly review in-progress work, facilitate drawing preparation and ensure work accuracy and neatness.
    • Attend and participate in owner, client, or architect meetings as needed and visit project sites to verify existing conditions and/or observe construction progress.
    • Consistently maintain advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, AEC industry codes and standards, relating to a broad range of practices, projects or program types through attending internal/external trainings, of self-study.
    • Applies local, state, and federal regulations and adapt engineering information, codes, and standards into the design of projects.
    • Participate in client, company, and industry events to build and maintain professional relationships.
    • Responsible for all junior Engineers under direct supervision and take ownership of the success and ongoing growth of team members.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university and 10 or more years of relevant experience is required; Master's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering, or similar discipline, can substitute up to 1 year of work experience.
    • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, AEC industry, codes and standards is required.
    • Experiencing creating and maintaining engineering standards and tools is required.
    • Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
    • Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Deltek, Autodesk Revit, Visual Lighting, SKM Power Tools, BlueBeam Revu, and other applicable design software.
