Reporting to the General Manager of the Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Business and based in Hanover, PA (may consider remote location for an ideally qualified candidate), this newly created position is pivotal in leading the development and execution of a robust Demand Planning and S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process for the R&M product portfolio across the North American market. The primary objective is to enable effective alignment between commercial forecasts and operational capabilities, ensuring optimal inventory levels and service performance. This position serves as a critical internal conduit, partnering with supply chain, manufacturing operations, sourcing, purchasing and commercial teams to drive planning excellence, support operational efficiency, ensure customer satisfaction and enable business growth. The successful candidate will facilitate the material procurement processes, drive forward key initiatives in supplier development, identify opportunities for global deals, leverage economies of scale and create competitive advantages that maximize value for the organization. - Primary responsibility for the strategic sourcing of key raw materials within the hardfacing and high alloy product lines to include metal strips, rods and powders
- Develop, lead and facilitate the S&OP process for the R&D product line, aligning demand forecasts with supply capabilities across North America
- Collaborate with plant operations, supply chain and commercial teams to ensure production plans meet customer requirements
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels to maintain optimal stock and avoid shortages or excess
- Develop and maintain planning models and KPIs to support decision-making and continuous improvement
- Identify and resolve supply-demand imbalances and proactively communicate risks and mitigation plans
- Lead team through rough cut capacity and ensure capacity constraints are escalated and demand is controlled
- Support new product introductions and phase-outs with appropriate planning strategies
- Prepare and present planning insights and recommendations to leadership
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering or related field preferred (may consider directly relevant experience in lieu of degree); MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Candidates with equivalent experience in planning, operations, or supply chain management will be considered in lieu of a degree
- 7+ years of experience in supply planning, production planning, or S&OP in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills with a focus on continuous improvement
- Outstanding communication and leadership abilities, with a track record of leading cross functional teams
- Proficiency in SAP/MPR systems and advanced knowledge of supply chain software (PowerBI)
- Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in data visualization tools
- Must have the ability to organize and prioritize work activities and meet deadlines while producing consistent results
- APIC certification (i.e., CPIM< CSCP) is a plus
- Ability to travel periodically (domestic and internationally) up to 15%
Working Conditions
- Works and visits industrial manufacturing sites with exposure to noise, machinery and varying temperatures
- Requires additional physical demands such as sitting, standing ascending/descending stairs, walking, squatting and stooping
- Must follow onsite Personal Protective Equipment PPE requirements
