Orange & Rockland is leading the clean energy transition in New York and New Jersey. We are investing millions of dollars annually to provide customers with the tools to better manage their energy use, scale the adoption of energy efficiency and clean heating technologies while targeting customers in disadvantaged communities, and minimizing infrastructure investment with clean energy solutions whenever possible.The Customer Energy Services department is seeking a creative and analytical strategic leader with strong experience in the clean energy transition. The Project Specialist oversees the Company's demand-side management (DSM) initiatives to help ensure system reliability, including design, operations, administration, budgetary, marketing, performance and analysis, reporting, process improvement, customer and stakeholder engagement, and the team responsible for implementing these initiatives.The successful candidate will lead a team of experienced DSM professionals that will further the Company's clean energy transition, support Climate Leadership & Community Protection Act (CLCPA) legislation, and implement programs that are designed to achieve the Company's clean energy goals and comply with all regulatory mandates. More specifically, the Program Manager will lead strategic planning and market analysis to maximize utility incentive investments and identify emerging clean energy opportunities. The role is responsible for tacking market dynamics, designing data driven outreach strategies and managing performance across a portfolio of clean energy programs. The Program Manager will identify market opportunities in the residential and C&I market segments and over-burdened communities. Core Responsibilities

  • Serve in a managerial capacity with a responsibility for overseeing, directing, and supporting assigned staff, including performance management coaching, and professional development
  • Conduct ongoing market research and trend analysis to identify emerging clean energy technologies, policy shifts and customer needs
  • Develop and refine portfolio strategies that optimize utility incentive investments and align with regulatory objectives
  • Design tailored marketing, outreach, and customer engagement strategies, that drive program participation and equity
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on portfolio performance recommending adjustments to improve impact and cost-effectiveness
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including stakeholders to align programs with broader energy efficiency and decarbonization goals
  • Track peer utility activity to identify best practices and tools to inform strategy development
  • Support development of performance reports, investment opportunities, and regulatory filings
  • Use data visualization and reporting tools to present complex finding clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Develop targeted outreach and engagement campaigns to increase new program and technology awareness to foster program participation
  • Responds to interrogatories and other regulatory inquiries regarding customer engagement strategies and overall program outreach and education and represents the Company in regulatory proceedings
  • Identifies and analyzes the effectiveness of outreach and education strategies and campaigns to maximize program performance
  • Demonstrates an understanding of new and developing technologies required to recommend and market products and services
  • Supports the development of robust marketing plans with identified tactics and strategies to increase customer awareness and market partner participation

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in the fields of Architecture, Engineering, Mathematics, Marketing, Business, Law, or other related technical disciplines and 3 years Related experience in at least one of the following areas: Clean Energy/Energy Efficiency, Project Management, Business Management Advertising and/or Marketing
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in the fields of Architecture, Engineering, Mathematics, Marketing, Business, Law, or other related technical disciplines 3 years Related experience in at least one of the following areas: Clean Energy/Energy Efficiency, Project Management, Business Management Advertising and/or Marketing
Relevant Work Experience
  • Demonstration of presentation and technical writing skills is a required.
  • Well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments and deadlines, required.
  • Experience managing budgets and forecasts, required.
  • Manage pilot projects that support the clean energy transition, required.
  • Strong analytical, and technical skills, required.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership experience and proven track record of achieving sustainable results in managing programs/projects, and process documentation, required.
  • Computer and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is required
  • Able to demonstrate innovative thinking and have the ability to work in a team atmosphere, required.
  • Experience managing vendor contracts and coordinating with supply chain, preferred.

  • Driver's License Required
Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within O&R, RECO and CECONY service territory, as needed.
  • Must be available 24/7, and available to be on call and/or participate in off-hour emergency response activities as required
