Position Overview:

The Health Care Consultant Intern will work directly under the supervision of members of the engagement team, providing outstanding service to internal and external clients. This role requires a strong understanding of health policy, Medicaid, and health care consulting. The intern will contribute to meaningful projects that inform health program design, compliance, and operational improvement.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct in depth literature review and research on assigned health policy and program topics
  • Perform analysis of qualitative and quantitative data translating findings into actionable insights
  • Present research findings and data analysis in clear, comprehensive, and cohesive summaries
  • Draft and revise policy and procedure manuals
  • Review program documentation for compliance with federal regulation and guidance
  • Assist in conducting feasibility studies and summarizing stakeholder feedback
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations and deliver internal briefings as needed
  • Participate in internal and client-facing meetings; record and summarize key takeaways
  • Possess and apply a solid understanding of the health care landscape
  • Respond to inquiries and requests timely and efficiently
  • Professional in appearance and manner
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward self, other professionals, clients, and Myers and Stauffer
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Current graduate student or recent graduate with a Master's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Health Services Administration, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of the health care industry with Medicaid knowledge preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and summarize complex information
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Submission of a writing sample will be required prior to job offer

The Team:
Myers and Stauffer takes pride in the welcoming and collaborative culture we have throughout our offices. For this position, the intern will report to one of our Managers or Senior Managers and will be assigned a team member as a Peer Contact.

Work Style:
Our general business hours are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, but can vary based on business needs. As a company, we are always willing to discuss potential flexibility that an employee may need to better suit their work-life wellbeing.

This position will be on-site in our office in Midtown Atlanta. The schedule requires at least 20+ hours/week and is flexible within a "traditional" Monday - Friday business week.
