The Lead - Vehicle Operations Support Specialist supports daily activities related to Inventory Control (ICC), key room operations, and temporary labor coordination. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example. The Lead will support operational flow, help manage personnel, maintain system accuracy, and collaborate with internal partners to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
What You'll Do
- Oversee key room operations, including intake, secure storage, organization, and tracking of vehicle keys
- Support ICC operations by communicating vehicle movement issues, updating system notes, and ensuring timely coordination
- Assist with daily clock-ins/outs for contract employees and assign tasks to temp labor as directed as well as all communication with temporary agencies
- Help lead daily team meetings covering safety, engagement, and operational updates
- Monitor workflow and help assign duties to ensure appropriate coverage throughout the day and on sale days
- Collaborate with Recon, Security, Dealer Services, and other departments to resolve issues quickly and effectively
- Enter notes on problem vehicles into AS400 or other internal systems
- Assist in onboarding and training new team members
- Track performance metrics, gather data, and recommend improvements to leadership
- Help resolve team or operational issues, escalating concerns when necessary
- Assist Manger in coaching, scheduling, and performance reviews
- Promote and model a safe, organized, and professional work environment
- May be required to work overtime as business needs arise
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum:
- HS Diploma/GED and 4+ years of relevant experience in a related automotive field (vehicle reconditioning, detailing, mechanical and/or body shop experience); or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
- Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Competent leadership and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Preferred:
- Excellent people, teamwork, and customer service skills.
- Strong communication and interaction skills.
- A working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations is preferred.
- A working knowledge of AS400 is preferred
USD 19.57 - 29.38 per hour
Compensation:
Hourly base pay rate is $19.57 - $29.38/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Benefits:
Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
