Krispy Kreme's Senior Manager, Global Food Safety & Quality Assurance is a technical people leader responsible for the company's food safety & quality assurance program and systems management team. They will lead a team of technical food safety & quality professionals at a corporate level. Specific responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining food safety and quality programs including Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP), Food Fraud, Food Defense, Supplier Management Program, Auditing, Quality Monitoring, Crisis Management, Risk Management, Food Safety Culture, Customer Program Management, Regulatory Response Program, Technology Management, Training Program Management, Regulatory registration, Allergen Management, Quality System Management, Hygienic Design, Sanitation Management, Pest Control, and Complaint Management. This position will oversee the development and implementation of quality and food safety standards, policies, and programs to achieve Krispy Kreme's growth initiatives and assure compliance and risk management program design. A TASTE OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Lead the technical team responsible for integration and implementation of quality assurance and food safety programs at a Global Corporate level across the Supply Chain. This includes Food Safety/HACCP systems, regulatory audits, quality systems review process (QSR), standard operating procedures (SOP's), ingredient inspections, product scoring, food safety audits, standardized work instructions
- Oversee, develop, and execute new Food Safety & Quality Assurance programs for continuous improvement of Krispy Kreme Doughnut products and operations.
- Oversee design and development of Food Safety and Quality Programs and Systems, Third Party Logistics (3PL), Third Party Audit program, and Distribution Management Systems
- Drive Compliance to FSQA Programs through metrics reporting, KPI's, maturity model assessments, internal audits, and risk mitigation to ensure program compliance with Krispy Kreme and Customer Food Safety and Quality Standards
- Develop and maintain systems to assure compliance with all QA requirements including Document Control and Records, Specifications, Verification, Product Identification Trace and Recall, Incident Management, and Advanced Food Safety Fundamentals.
- Contribute to departments' food safety & quality planning strategic initiatives and goal planning
- Coach, mentor, and develop technical food safety & quality team direct reports.
- Oversee FDA/FSMA requirements, making sure KKDC procedures are in accordance with the latest regulatory requirements
- Management of Mix plants procedures
- Responsible for Customer Management (DFD business and change management), Compliance
- Management (regulatory readiness, response and KPIs, etc), Crisis Management (traceability, mock recalls, recalls, withdrawal, contingency plan, food defense, food fraud, complaints etc), Risk Management (supplier approval thru point 74 project, ingredient hazard analysis, food safety plans (preventive controls) etc).
- Assess and connect with 3rd party audits vendors
- Support New Market Opening procedures needs (global and in the U.S.)
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:
- Must have at least 8 years of experience in Food Manufacturing at Corporate Food Safety & QA functions. Master's degree or Ph.D. will count towards years of experience.
- Bachelor's degree in food science, Quality, Food Safety, or related discipline. Master's Degree or Ph.D. preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing technical professionals
- Comprehensive knowledge of Project Management, Program Development, Project Management, FSMA, GFSI Audit Programs, Food Contact Packaging, Regulations, Sanitation, Pest Control, and GMP's
- Regulatory and crisis management experience preferred including recall management and traceability.
- Must have the ability to interact and partner closely with other corporate departments, suppliers, facilities, contractors, and retail customers.
- Strong research and development skills
- Knowledge of raw material and ingredient functionality
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Completion of PCQI training
