Position Summary and Responsibilities:


The Division Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role plays a critical part in facilitating a safe working environment and promoting a culture of safety across the organization, as a resource and consultant to Beverage Division management. Areas of emphasis include OSHA and DOT regulations, BEK safety policies and procedures, physical and technical security components and implementation, post-accident/incident protocols, Samsara, and annual training required for various roles within BEK locations.


Responsibilities:



  • Develop and implement divisional safety policies that support and enforce BEK safety and security initiatives, as well as OSHA, DOT and other relevant regulations
  • Identify safety training opportunities for staff and recommend improvements for employee development
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend/present corrective action plans to management throughout all BEK Beverage locations
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of warehouses, equipment, processes and training records
  • Meet with employees and managers to study safety problems and develop policies and procedures which will decrease the risk of injury or loss; respond to employees' concerns about on-site safety and health; coordinate and run monthly divisional safety meeting
  • Coordinate and conduct safety training events with Corporate Risk and Beverage Division Employee Development departments
  • Provide regular communications to Beverage Division management relative to general motor vehicle safety statistics and Samsara metrics


Qualifications:



  • Minimum 5 years combined experience in emergency response, large-scale safety and security, formal training/instruction, and management
  • Capacity to quickly learn and implement the BEK Corporate Safety Plan
  • FMCSA, DOT and OSHA training and/or certifications
  • Excellent communication, organizational and project management skills
  • Clean MVR and ability to travel daily to other BEK locations (some overnight stay may be required)
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • AED/CPR/First Aid training/certified.
  • College degree or some college in related field preferred
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. and bend, kneel, and stoop as required for the essential functions of the job
