Summary: This Cybersecurity Analyst role provides technical and analytical support for the cybersecurity tools which protect ACS infrastructure such as servers, workstations, data, networks, and applications and other related areas across all physical ACS locations and virtual cloud environments. Additionally, this role will assist peers on complex security issues, stay current with Cybersecurity industry trends, and consistently identify improvement opportunities for the College.

This exempt position will report to the Senior Manager, IT Cybersecurity and Risk Management in the Division of Information Technology. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $91,300 - $110,000 (commensurate with related experience).

Responsibilities:



  • Cybersecurity tool administration including installation, management, updates and monitoring of cybersecurity tools, as well as response to operational issues and security incidents.

  • Liaise with peers in IT to improve the College's Cybersecurity maturity through ensuring complete coverage of security agents and tooling, remediating vulnerabilities, etc.

  • Assist on complex issues, including the remediation of audit findings and generating reports.

  • Resolve technical issues as they arise, develop and implement plans to reduce the recurrence/incidence of issues.

  • Work with a wide range of vendors / partners to tune and optimize the College's Cybersecurity ecosystem. Respond to alerts, perform investigations, and triage and remediate threats.

  • Produce process documentation and update necessary configuration management repositories to keep all items current.



Required Education and/or Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred, but not required.

  • Cybersecurity certifications such as CySA+, Security+, CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc are desired.

  • A minimum of 5+ years' experience in Information Technology, along with 4+ years' in Cybersecurity/Information Security is preferred.

  • Experience deploying & managing Endpoint Detection & Response, Vulnerability Scanning, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) is required.

  • Strong working knowledge in an environment that uses Microsoft products and platforms (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Teams).

  • Experience deploying & managing Web Application Firewall (WAF), Firewall/VPN, Identity Governance & Administration (IGA), Security Information Event Management (SIEM), and Security Orchestration Automation Response (SOAR) is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to interact with all levels of the organization.

  • A team player who will work well with peers (team, division, college, partners, etc) and contribute whenever possible to the overarching success is essential.
