AES Ohio is seeking a dedicated Utility Forester to lead vegetation management efforts that ensure the safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance of our electric infrastructure.
Ensuring compliance with AES, ANSI, and OSHA safety standards. Verifying adherence to IURC Tree Rule, ANSI Line Clearing standards, and best management practices (BMPs). Following AES Indiana, as well as U.S. federal environmental and endangered species policies and procedures. Conducting quality audits to confirm compliance with AES Line Clearing standards. Assisting with emergency response during both scheduled and unscheduled hours. Coordinating with engineers, schedulers, and line crews to effectively plan and execute tree trimming activities for capital projects. Developing detailed work plans for each capital project to ensure seamless access for subsequent construction activities. Providing supervision, leadership, and training through daily engagement; prioritizing, directing, monitoring, and evaluating contractor performance; preparing, managing, and administering project budgets to optimize business results related to performance, cost efficiency, and reliability. Negotiating with customers on line clearing matters to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes and advance capital projects. Communicating with property owners regarding vegetation concerns and securing necessary permissions and access for tree crews. Developing and scheduling transmission line work plans based on maintenance cycles and risk assessments associated with the transmission system. Conducting quality control inspections of vegetation management activities performed on the system. Inspecting substation riser poles to ensure operational integrity.
