Are you a detail-oriented tax professional with a passion for accuracy and strategic planning? The Tax Accountant plays a key role in managing complex tax returns, ensuring compliance at all levels, and providing insights that drive financial success. Key Responsibilities:



  • Prepare and maintain supporting tax workpapers and documentation; review and file federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
  • Review and approve weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll tax filings prepared by third-party payroll services to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify potential tax-saving opportunities.
  • Lead and support responses to tax audits, inquiries, and notices from taxing authorities.
  • Maintain and reconcile tax general ledger accounts.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors and internal stakeholders to address complex tax issues.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact operations or planning strategies.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior tax or accounting staff.
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements to increase tax compliance and reporting efficiency.
  • Experience with international tax issues or transfer pricing is a plus.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's in Taxation preferred)
  • CPA certification required
  • 5-7 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or a corporate tax department
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes and regulations
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software, third-party payroll systems, and accounting platforms
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
