American Structurepoint's Road Engineering Group is seeking an entry-level Staff Engineer in Cleveland, OH! In this role you'll work as part of a close-knit team on roadway projects for ODOT, cities, towns, and counties throughout Ohio. Most of your work will take place in the office, with occasional site visits, as you assist with quantity takeoffs, create construction plan sets using MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (ORD), prepare design documentation, and develop construction cost estimates. From large interstate and interchange projects to urban reconstructions, rural maintenance, and roundabouts, you'll gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of impactful transportation projects.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

  • Assist with the design and layout of roadway alignments, both horizontal and vertical, for real-world transportation projects

  • Get involved in key aspects of roadway design, including geometry, drainage, signage, pavement markings, and maintenance of traffic

  • Help develop construction plan sets, gaining experience in how projects are prepared for bidding and construction

  • Perform quantity calculations to support bid plan development and construction cost estimates

  • Explore additional areas like pavement analysis, design, and utility coordination for a well-rounded experience

  • Take on a variety of project support tasks, learning how transportation engineering projects come to life from concept to construction



Qualifications

Who you are:

  • Recent or soon-to-be graduate with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering

  • 0-4 years of relevant experience, such as internships, co-ops, academic projects, or entry-level engineering roles
