That's why we're looking for a Legal Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support to assigned legal staff.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for...



  • Heavy document production from drafting/editing documents, preparing for execution, and processing once executed
  • Supporting probate filing and deed recording procedures on behalf of client in accordance with specific deadlines
  • Effectively establishing and maintaining well-organized files, while managing the integrity of original client documents in various formats
  • Managing attorney's committee obligations; managing activity logistics, event scheduling and coordination; production of relevant materials
  • Managing billing processes to include time-entry, data review and correction, final submission to meet all Firm-required deadlines, maintenance of billing records, and research of disputes and discrepancies
  • Managing all CLE and Bar Admission processing to ensure all requirements and attorneys remain in good standing
  • Managing various client-driven activities, such as conflict checks and waivers, engagement letters, and business development initiatives


The successful candidate will demonstrate...



  • A minimum of two years prior relevant work experience within a Law Firm or Professional Services environment required
  • Advanced use of MS Word (including redlining, advanced formatting, and the use of Styles) as well as an ability to quickly learn other applications
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills using MS Office Suite; strong computer aptitude in order to use various Firm-supported software programs; proficiency working with PDF Essentials and eRoom platforms is preferred
  • Proficiency in the use of document management systems
  • Ability to efficiently read and write in order to proof and edit documentation for typographical (spelling and grammar) errors, and sentence structure
  • A meticulous level of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential
  • Ability to draft routine correspondence and maintain record keeping and filing systems within a fast paced and paper-intensive environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills necessary to convey and obtain information to various levels of internal and external clients
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
  • Ability to follow and convey instructions effectively with a high degree of courtesy and tact, including the ability to independently initiate follow-up


Pay Range for Candidates in Los Angeles:

$75,000 - $100,000 per year

The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
