Position Summary
This position is for an Advanced Practice Provider (Research Instructor) who will work part-time in the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing HIV primary care at the state and federal funded Ryan White HIV/ AIDS Part B/C grants located at Wake County Human Services Infectious Diseases Clinic in Raleigh, NC. UNC Chapel Hill provides services at the Wake County Human Services through a contract. This position provides no benefits and will be paid per diem.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner program approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and 'approved to practice medical acts' based on education and two years of experience in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Nurse practitioner must be certified and/or licensed to practice in North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experienced in providing care to people with HIV disease; working with a diverse population, understanding their differing needs and be able to respond to them in a way that is culturally competent, sensitive and caring, including people in both rural and urban areas, and people with significant life-challenges in addition to HIV infection. Commitment to advocating for the health and general welfare of the patients.
