Work Location & Shifts: 970 Route 11, Kirkwood, NY 13795 | 1ST shift starting at 6:00 AM

Pay: The hourly pay rate for this position is $20.00 + benefits. Base pay will vary within the range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is specific to Kirkwood and may not be applicable to other locations.

Overview

Operates forklift to restock the Specials Production Area(s) with slabs, glass and other components as needed. Scans product into the appropriate binning locations, works with IC to ensure proper binning to maintain materials for the area. Pulls specials slabs and transports material to and from designated areas as assigned. Assists with glass prep/glazing processes as needed due to work load.

Responsibilities

• Position will require appropriate certification to operate equipment
• Operate forklift to load and/or move materials
• Supply production areas with materials needed from inventory
• Perform safety checks on lift truck
• Supports the manufacturing process through inspection of products handled
• Coordinates and material transfers/substitutions with supervisor
• Inspect glass and make minor repairs
• Route materials through manufacturing
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Handling/stacking requirements
• Read/interpret schedules/tickets
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bending, twisting, stooping, excellent dexterity, must work at a fast pace, fast pace is physically demanding
• Strong eye/hand coordination
• Standing for long continuous hours
• Constant attention to detail and accuracy of material placement
• Concentration on proper lifting and ensure floors are kept free of debris
• Regular attendance and timeliness
• Follow all operational and safety SOP's as written

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
• 1+ year of forklift operation with previous forklift certification, preferred
