About the Role:

Plan, conduct and supervise all department testing for a specific site. Provide technical and administrative supervision to assure that the technical, administrative, schedule and budget goals for the department are achieved. Dynamics: The branch of mechanics that deals with motion of systems under action of forces usually from outside the system.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

* Provide technical and administrative direction to the department staff.
* Interact with customers and Program Managers for technical support and review of test results.
* Troubleshoot escalated testing issues.
* Work with department staff to run certain test, particularly if they are complex in nature.
* Other - Perform other duties as assigned

CORE REQUIREMENTS:


* Manages, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of department activities with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing
* Able to complete advanced technical and mechanical procedures; able to perform assignments that are not standardized or prescribed. Works on diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation with understanding of processes. Advanced interpretation and analysis of test results. Acts as an advisor to others, to meet schedules and resolve technical problems. Develops performance requirements, may have budget responsibilities
* Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team
* Advanced understanding of engineering principles; expert understanding of data interpretation, Dynamics testing & troubleshooting. Advanced knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical principles, strong knowledge of all potential aspects of safety
* Strong management skills, mathematical skills, and mastery of all standard and complex Ballistics equipment. Proficient MS Office skills; understanding of AC/DC circuits

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


* BS in Engineering
* 10-15 years in a related field, 5+ years in a management role

WORKING CONDITIONS:


Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noises

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
