Job Title Software Engineer, Senior GBS.094 Location Alabama - Gunter Maxwell - Montgomery, AL US (Primary) Job Description Torch Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer Senior located at Maxwell Air Force Base-Gunter Annex in Montgomery, AL, within the AFLCMC/GB Business and Enterprise Systems Directorate (BES), to support Integrated Logistics System- Supply (ILS S). The ILS-S is comprised of the following supply applications used at the base/warfighter level: Standard Base Supply System (SBSS), Air Force Supply Centralized Database (AFSCDB), and the Enterprise Solution - Supply (ES-S). ILS-S supports over 18,000 supply customers and operates as an integral part of Air Force Supply Chain Management and Chief Financial Officer financial accountability. The ILS-S provides direct supply support to Active, Guard and Reserve forces anywhere in the world in support of peacetime and wartime operations for all Air Force weapon systems such as F-35, F22, F-15, F-16, A-10, C-130, C-17, C-5, etc. This position requires a highly motivated individual with experience in software engineering to include, but not limited to: Preparing/creating, reviewing, and analyzing all types of documentation for: Planning, Requirements, Design, Coding, Support, and Test; Source code, configuration files and engineering resolution support; Determining operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions; Demonstrating solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and code comments; Determining and designing system specifications, and standards, and programming/coding and installing solutions; Improving operations by conducting systems and process analysis plus recommending changes in policies and procedures; Advising (licensed) software procurements by researching, analyzing, comparing, and documenting results of vendors and products, which may include installation, configuration and testing (of products); Providing information and recommendations by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service related issues; Accomplishing engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed; Developing software solutions by studying requirements/user stories, user/system/data needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas, and following an Agile software development lifecycle; Evaluating software technologies such as containerization and the use of Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, configuration as code, micro services, standard application program interfaces (API), continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and maximizing the automation of the software development lifecycle (SDLC); and/or, Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices to the delivery of application software services. Job Requirements Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD OR, bachelor's degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications eight of which must be in the DoD. Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold an active DoD Security Clearance (Secret). Must maintain clearance at required level. Preferred Qualifications: Atlassian Tool Suite Agile Development Methodologies Confluence BitBucket Information System Management Tool (ISMT) CompTIA Security + CE - Preferred Advanced Atlassian Toolset Experience Experience with Atlassian plugins, such as ScriptRunner or Automation for Jira Knowledge of Atlassian Data Center offerings, including Jira Data Center and Confluence Data Center Experience with EKS (Elastic Container Service for Kubernetes) and ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) Familiarity with AWS services, such as Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatchexperience with AWS security, including IAM roles, policies, and compliance. Experience with other programming languages such as Python, C# or JavaScript Familiarity with machine learning or artificial intelligence technologies Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines Previous experience working on DoD installations.
