We're actively seeking a talented Sr. IT Internal Auditor to join our Global Internal Audit team in Newport Beach, CA.
As a Senior IT Internal Auditor, you'll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by leading and executing complex IT audits, evaluating cybersecurity and technology risks, and providing strategic insights that strengthen our control environment. You will fill an existing role that sits on a team of 23 people in the Corporate Division. Your colleagues will include IT Audit Managers, Internal Audit Directors, and fellow audit and risk professionals. The team collaborates closely across business units and technology functions, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. How you'll help move us forward:
- Assisting leadership with the audit planning process by performing background analysis on the audit area, facilitating internal and client planning meetings, developing audit programs, and risk and control matrices
- Conducting procedural walkthroughs with process owners and documenting key risks and controls
- Performing design and operating effectiveness testing and driving the execution of audit test procedures
- Identify control gaps, assess risk exposure, and recommend actionable remediation strategies
- Assisting with testing ITGCs related to financial control programs (i.e. MAR, ICFR) and special projects
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to assess emerging technology risks and regulatory compliance
- Prepare and present clear, concise audit reports to senior leadership
- Support the development and enhancement of the annual IT audit plan based on risk assessments and business priorities
- Participate in special projects, investigations, and advisory engagements related to IT risk and governance
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in IT audit and cybersecurity
- Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization
The experience you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in IT audit, risk management, or cybersecurity within a regulated industry
- Proficiency with audit and risk platforms such asAuditBoard, RSA Archer
- Strong knowledge of IT frameworks and standards includingCOBIT, NIST, ISO 27001, and COSO
- Hands-on experience withcloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP),network security,identity and access management (IAM), anddata loss prevention (DLP)
- Familiarity withSOX/Model Audit Rule (MAR) compliance,GDPR, and other data privacy regulations
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional, agile environment

- Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g.,MS in Cybersecurity, MBA, or Master of Accounting)

- Proficiency indata analytics and automation toolssuch asPython, SQL, RPA (e.g., UiPath), and Power BI
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex audits and influence stakeholders across business and IT

The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
