Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Advanced Manufacturing Group and lead projects with professionalism, flexibility, and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment. This role involves managing project quality, timeliness, and safety, mentoring the project team, and developing strong customer relationships through excellent service and communication skills.

This is the perfect opportunity for those experienced project managers, who enjoy leading from the front, managing stakeholder groups across all levels, and coaching team members. If you are inventive, dedicated and lead with a high level of integrity and humility this is the right role for you.

Travel: This is a 100% travel position, and locations may vary based on the project. Mortenson hires for a career and not a project. When your project is complete, you will be assigned to another project.



RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Plan and implement to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule


  • Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability


  • Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies


  • Develop and manage project schedules, including three and six-week look-ahead schedules


  • Develop a site logistics plan and lead the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment


  • Collaborate with project partner superintendents


  • Conduct on-site project orientations, pre-construction planning sessions, and project site meetings


  • Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; interview, hire, transfer, and dismiss craft team members as needed


  • Coach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other project team members


  • Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards, track work progress and craft productivity


  • Handle craft team member training and conduct career development discussions


  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels


  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and manage performance


  • Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members


  • Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions and seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures



QUALIFICATIONS


  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience


  • Minimum 5 years construction management or related experience


  • Current driver's license


  • Ability to fulfill responsibilities for multiple, complex projects


  • Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks


  • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices


  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills


  • Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills


  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies


  • Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback


  • Ability to travel up to 100%

The base pay range for this role is $108,600 MIN - $162,900 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).



Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
