The Financial Advisor Sales Associate plans, coordinates, and performs activities related to support and sales of various financial services and investment products for the Investment Group division to the members of One Nevada Credit Union in coordination with our Broker/Dealer. This individual performs a dual sales-support role and is an integral part of our Member Investments team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales and Division Management Support 70%

* Actively promotes, under the direction of the Investment Services Business Plan and Vice President Member Investments, products and services of the Member Investments Services, both internally and externally;

* Supports sales and service needs of existing Financial Advisors/Consultants and VP Member Investments with management of the existing Book of Business of Investment Services by promoting new business, repeat business and periodic Client Review support using the LPL Financial ClientWorks system;

* Coordinates with VP Member Investments and ONCU Marketing department to pursue target markets to steadily build member and new member relationships, investment accounts, and increase assets under management; provides cross-sell opportunities to the CU staff when appropriate for ONCU products and services;

* Assists in business related matters such as document processing, scanning, business application submission, quality control, and in conjunction with ONCU Marketing department and LPL Financial Compliance departments coordinating advertising/marketing collateral approvals and implementation, general compliance and books and records requirements via the Advertising Review Tool (ART) and Marketing Regulatory Review (MRR) in ClientWorks;

* Helps motivate Financial Advisors and retail operations staff to promote the features and benefits of investments services to generate optimum referrals via the numerous marketing channels available; seeks new opportunities and creates additional marketing channels not yet in use;

* Assists Vice President of Member Investments and other Financial Advisors/Consultants to promote Investment Services --"Financial Wellness" emphasis directly to existing investment clients and ONCU members through workshops, seminars and other viable means; and

* Assists in planning, coordination and conducting periodic seminars/workshops, webinars and use of social media channels for member and non-member education and promotion of Investment products and services.

Assists Financial Advisors and their member clients to determine their personal investment and insurance goals and objectives, and as Financial Advisors, advise them on various available investment strategies and product choices;

* Effectively utilizes profiling tools and financial planning software programs;

* Communicates via e-mail, newsletters, brochures, phone calls, seminars, educational collateral, content development, etc., about products and personal financial planning services with members;

* Supports existing or new opportunities for continual "client touches", appointment confirmations, and promotes general relationship building to enhance sales and service volume;

* Communicates with ONCU departments about Investments product sales and referrals; and

* Resolves related member account issues that arise;

* Coordinates and/or performs account set-up and on-going account maintenance functions between ONCU Investment Group, Broker/Dealer and Vendors to ensure a consistent high level of service and member satisfaction related to investments services;

* Coordinates periodic research on existing product lines and competing products, monitors financial condition of investment firms and insurance carriers for ongoing viability, customer and broker support;

* Conforms to product, regulatory (FINRA and SEC), legal, state of Nevada insurance and Broker/Dealer compliance issues and requirements as applicable;

* Coordinates with Vice President Member Investments to research, recommend, develop and implement new products and product changes or conversions;

* Keeps consistent office hours at designated branches as designated by the Vice President of Member Investments; and

* Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Knowledge of or ability to gain personal investment management & financial planning techniques;

* Thorough knowledge of currently available investment and insurance products and services, and associated markets;

* Knowledge of Securities and Exchange Commission and FINRA rules and regulations;

* General and current knowledge of IRS reporting requirements related to personal investments products;

* General knowledge of operations and marketing functions within a financial institution;

* General knowledge of macro economics with emphasis on investment market trends;

* Skill or ability in the operation of a personal computer to include Internet/Intranet, operating systems, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, Microsoft Office, calendar and scheduling software, AI capabilities and other office equipment; ability to learn financial related software programs used in support to clients and prospective clients;

* Ability to effectively assist and coordinate professional sales techniques related to personal investments as a non-licensed assistant;

* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing;

* Ability to analyze problems and opportunities, then evaluate and implement effective alternatives, solutions or approaches;

* Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate the achievement of goals, objectives, and work plans;

* Ability to maintain regularly scheduled attendance;

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and members; and

* Must be able to relate appropriately to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; (b) perform work activities requiring negotiating, instruction, and communicating with others; and (c) respond appropriately to constructive feedback from a supervisor.

Education AND Experience

College degree preferred, 2 - 3 years plus experience in the financial services industry preferred or ability to quickly learn the processes of the retail investment industry. Licenses of securities or insurance a plus. Potential for future growth in division to obtain FINRA securities and insurance licenses and ability to maintain license(s) in good standing.
