Job Summary (Primary function)

The Associate Director of Commercial Effectiveness plays a pivotal role in shaping and elevating the performance of the commercial organization. Through the strategic design, seamless implementation, and continual enhancement of performance-driving tools, analytics, and operational frameworks, this individual serves as a force multiplier for achieving business excellence. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution and requires dynamic, collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders across Sales, Market Access, Product Strategy, and other cross-functional teams. The ultimate goal: to ensure commercial strategies are flawlessly executed, agilely adapted, and always aligned with broader organizational objectives.

Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)

* Strategic Alignment & Measurement

* Collaborate with commercial leaders to define and align on metrics that effectively measure the impact of strategic imperatives, ensuring focus and accountability across functions.

* Performance Management

* Support the creation, refinement, and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) that fuel a culture of high performance and measurable success.

* Operational Excellence

* Uncover inefficiencies in commercial operations and spearhead innovative process reengineering initiatives that simplify workflows and enhance organizational agility.

* Systems & Tools Optimization

* Drive the evolution of commercial systems, ensuring they are scalable, user-centric, and built to support real-time decision-making.

* Insights & Analytics

* Develop intuitive, actionable dashboards and analytics platforms that empower commercial teams to make data-informed decisions with confidence and speed.

* Process Improvement Leadership

* Lead high-impact projects focused on workflow streamlining, helping teams work smarter, faster, and more collaboratively.

* Stakeholder Engagement

* Build strong, trusted relationships with internal stakeholders across all levels, becoming a go-to partner for problem solving and strategic execution.

* Communication & Reporting

* Deliver clear, insightful updates and recommendations to senior leadership, fostering transparency and alignment across commercial initiatives.

* Analytics Innovation

* Champion the introduction and adoption of best-in-class analytics frameworks that bring consistency and rigor to performance measurement across all commercial teams.

* Commercial Team Enablement

* Provide targeted training programs, conduct field rides to gather real-world insights, and promote a culture of continuous learning and operational readiness.

* Collaboration with BIS

* Partner with the Business Information Services (BIS) team to define and refine business requirements, ensuring the delivery of intelligent, field-ready tools and solutions that drive commercial success.

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

* BA or BS degree or equivalent experience

* 8-10 years experience in the Pharma/BioTech industry preferred

* Proven experience in motivating high performance teams and versed in techniques for effective coaching, communication, and working styles.

* Proficient in analyzing and commercial activities.

* Excellent verbal, written and stakeholder management skills to effectively influence and manage expectations with sales management and cross-functional teams.

* Strong project management skills.

* Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically
