Department Summary

The Office of Admissions is a vital contributor to the enrollment success at the University of North Texas through student outreach, recruitment endeavors, and a commitment to providing personalized assistance to students throughout the college application and admissions process.

Position Overview

The Office of Admissions, at the University of North Texas, is seeking to hire a Senior Admissions Recruiter to assist in recruiting and admissions functions, under the direction of the Associate Director, Visitor Experience. This position is responsible for the planning and execution of large and small scale recruitment events for student populations which are held on and off campus. This position is critical in implementing strategic initiatives from Admissions leadership. Work involves, but is not limited to; recruitment event planning for prospective first-time college students, transfer students, and graduate students. Work also involves relationship management with campus partners, the hiring, training, and managing of student employees. There is also the possibility of local travel and occasional overnight travel, as required by events. The ability to work select nights and weekends for events is required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in recruiting, academic advising, academic counseling, student services, or related experience or can substitute education for experience.

* Strong presentation skills and problem solving skills.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills.
* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
* Experience with Microsoft Office Products.
* Ability to obtain credit card for travel.
* Possession of valid driver's license, good driving record, and access to a vehicle.
* Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
* Professional in appearance, motivated, self-directed, and have the ability and willingness to communicate enthusiastically with populations in a positive, courteous, and professional manner.
* Ability to work evenings and weekends.
* Willingness to travel (may be extensive).

Preferred Qualifications

* Masters degree in related field of higher education, student services, counseling, or related field.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects.

Job Duties:



  • Facilitate the design, organization, and execution of large and small-scale recruitment events hosted on and off campus for student populations under the direction of the Associate Director. - (Essential)
  • Hire, train, supervise, provide work direction, and problem-solving assistance for Admissions Events Team student workers.
  • Assist and collaborate with fellow Visitor Experience staff to support the operational needs of the Welcome Center.
  • Participate in recruitment networking efforts and maintain strong relationships with strategic on and off campus partners to successfully execute recruitment events.
  • Complete expected duties in a timely manner, without constant supervision, accept responsibility for own work, and follow through on commitments.
  • Complete assigned trainings and other administrative requirements punctually and follow procedures for timekeeping, absences, and attendance.
  • Assist in the recording and reporting of recruitment event attendance and yield data to measure effectiveness of programs.
