The Embedded Payments Partnership Manager at SVB is responsible for ensuring the success of strategic partnerships for the Embedded Payments organization by managing the life cycle of partnerships with an eye on maximum value to our business teams and clients. To achieve that you will coordinate across various Business Units and Functions within the organization. You will work closely with the cross-functional business partners as well as the commercial partnerships team to ensure smooth project execution of these plans. In addition, you will establish and refine playbooks and processes to oversee all aspects of partnerships. This role requires a visionary approach to partnership development, a deep understanding of market dynamics, and the ability to drive innovation across multiple product lines. The role will play a crucial role in shaping SVB's partnership offerings to meet the evolving needs of the innovation economy. Payments Partner Manager is a key contributor to the SVB payments team and partnerships function in establishing a partner portfolio that enables the expansion of the payments enablement business and product lines.


Responsibilities

Go-to-Market Strategy and Execution - Develop holistic go-to-market strategies for the partnership portfolio, lead senior business unit and function leaders in developing effective commercial plans, including distribution, marketing, operations, risk, and technical requirements.

Portfolio Management and Performance - Define performance management and synergy tracking processes (KPIs, scorecards), monitor partnership success and conduct strategic portfolio reviews with the Head of Partnerships, and manage referral opportunities

Partnership Assessment and Due Diligence - Evaluate potential partnerships to augment core product offerings, evaluate enterprise resource requirements for potential strategic investments and build resource models and roadmaps.

Cross-functional Leadership and Integration - Align partnerships with cross-enterprise strategy, objectives, and roadmap as they relate to Embedded Payments client use cases, identify synergies (revenue and cost) and minimize operational impact, understand organizational cultures and develop plans to bridge differences, collaborate with Sales and Client Success teams to gather customer feedback, discuss leads, and coordinate with Legal and Compliance to ensure products meet regulatory requirements

Operational Excellence and Support - Support Head of Embedded Payments with playbook development and operating model refinement, interface with external advisors.


Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 year of experience in Financial Services, with a strong focus on partnerships, fintechs, referral management, sales, marketing, and working knowledge of various payment products & partners in market or HS Diploma with a minimum of 6 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep Knowledge of payment products & partners
  • Experience in conducting diligence on leads and prospects to the bank, routing leads to the proper teams, managing leads from sales to implementation, and track every lead that is shared between partners & the bank
  • Ability to communicate & inform across internal and external executive audiences and drive consensus
  • Strong relationship building
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal skills
  • Understanding of product development processes and controls at SVB
  • Ability to tie activities back to strategy and commercial goals for payments team and enterprise more broadly
  • Client-facing experience, with the ability to engage clients and speak about our partnerships

The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $120000-125000 annually.
