Job Duties:
At the Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (WVDL), our team provides diagnostic testing to identify CWD and track its progression throughout Wisconsin and beyond. These efforts help inform disease surveillance and support consumer safety. As hunting season approaches, WVDL is temporarily expanding its team to manage an anticipated increase in sample volume. New team members will help sustain the accuracy and efficiency of our CWD testing services during this critical period. Prior laboratory experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided in sample preparation and testing for CWD. This position is expected to be seasonal and end in February 2026; however, the end date may be adjusted earlier or extended based on funding availability, program needs, and performance. There is a mandatory 4 week training schedule: Monday through Friday starting at 7:45 am to 4:30 pm on October 1, 2025. After the mandatory training period is completed, there will be two day shifts and two night shifts.
Free parking is available on-site during the night shift and weekend hours. Key Job Responsibilities:
