DUTIES:

Executes a variety of realistic battlefield effects without assistance using simulators, training devices and pyrotechnics in a safe, accurate and timely manner; operates and maintains all Government Furnished Equipment and Vehicles to prescribed standards, to include ATV's, during both daylight hours and during periods of limited visibility, under all weather conditions and in a wide variety of terrain; assists BFE Branch management in ensuring Branch-wide compliance with all applicable corporate and local regulations, policies, and procedures; provides direct supervision of three or more employees in the execution of specified Performance Work Statement tasks; assists BFE Branch management by performing instructor duties for other employees; coordinates Special Simulations Team (SST) rotational exercise support requirements with authorized customer representatives in a timely manner; assigns tasks and supervises execution of all work-related elements for employees designated for SST mission support; may assist BFE Branch management in scheduling of employees; and, performs other duties as assigned consistent with mission requirements and occupational specialty.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience within the SST Cell. Demonstrated operational knowledge of the FireOne System. High school diploma or equivalent; professional experience commensurate with the mental and physical requirements of the position. Must be able to obtain a minimum a Class "A" Driver's License with a Hazmat endorsement. Must be able to complete/certify in the AMMO 45, 62, and 67 courses.

Desired: Prior experience leading large-scale simulation in support of rotational training events. Completion of advanced pyrotechnics safety or military effects courses beyond AMMO 45, 62, and 67.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to travel unaccompanied to continental US and foreign locations. Must be available to work, day/night irregular hours and weekends on a routine and consistent basis. Physical conditions must permit the following: capable of rapid cross-country movement over varied terrain for 2km while carrying a 20-pound pack in 20 minutes. Must be able to read a military map, be proficient in military RTO and telecommunications procedures, lift up to 50 pounds, and work while standing for prolonged periods without rest. Must possess a valid Louisiana driver's license (or equivalent). Must submit to and pass initial drug screening; will be subject to random drug screening.
