Summary of Job Duties:The successful candidate will conduct applied quantitative research on water, which includes coding, modeling, data analysis, and manuscript preparation. The candidate will also gain valuable experience by assisting in presentation preparation, publishing articles, and writing grant proposals. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • M.A. in economics, mathematics, natural resource management or other applicable field by date of hire;
  • Advanced training in quantitative methods, statistics, and applied economics;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Strong modeling skills;
  • Experience working with python and optimization software, in particular GAMs;
  • Familiarity with data and proficiency in statistical software (e.g., STATA, or SAS);
  • Experience in conducting interdisciplinary research and a willingness to travel.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct applied quantitative research of water, which includes coding, modeling, data analysis, and manuscript preparation;
  • Assist in presentation preparation, publishing articles, and writing grant proposals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Generalized algebraic modeling and python.
