Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Compliance Analyst with at least three years of experience in the corporate or public sector. This role is responsible for ensuring organizational adherence to corporate policies and debt tracking/compliance. Specifically, this individual will monitor compliance with debt covenants, tax-equity, power purchase agreements, joint venture, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption programs. Additionally, this role will support the internal audit function and be able to collaborate across the organization to implement and improve the global compliance program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal compliance reviews and risk assessments

  • Conduct frequent SOX control testing

  • Support internal and external audits, including data gathering and remediation tracking

  • Develop and maintain compliance documentation, policies, controls, and training materials

  • Manage compliance checklists and tracking software associated with debt, tax-equity, PPA and other agreements. Ensure timely sign-off by assigned subject matter experts of reporting requirements

  • Partner with legal, operations, procurement, HR, and project teams to align with corporate compliance policies and objectives

  • Generate compliance tracking and reporting

  • Manage aspects of anti-bribery and anti-corruption program and related policies and training

  • Create, review, and maintain procedure documents and templates to support the consistent application of Deriva Energy policies and other compliance issues.

  • Execute compliance functional processes and procedures with minimal oversight

  • Assist with SOX program compliance and enterprise risk management activities

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of program controls to ensure they provide the intended level of protection

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or other related discipline

  • One (1) or more years of compliance or regulatory experience in a corporate or public setting

Desired Qualifications

  • Three (3) or more years of compliance or regulatory experience in a corporate or public setting

  • Has or is pursuing a professional certification (CPA, CIA, CFE, etc.)

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Demonstrated project management abilities

  • Working knowledge of risk management and Compliance policies, standards, processes, and controls

  • Demonstrated ability interpreting and working with debt, tax-equity and other business-related contracts/agreements

  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls and testing

  • Demonstrated ability to work in high pressure situations and within a team environment

  • Ability to work independently, problem-solve through creative processes and establish partnerships with corporate and business groups, legal counsel, auditors and external parties.

  • The ability to function well in a fast-paced, changing environment while meeting deadlines

  • Responds well to supervisors, is easy to challenge and develop, and is easily coachable

  • Able to work effectively with minimally defined direction requiring some degree of judgment

  • Able to present complex information in an understandable manner both verbal and written

  • Demonstrated ability to absorb change and continue with positive results

  • Recognize a possible compliance violation and take appropriate action to report the incident as required

  • Skill in supporting audits or reviews of technical systems.

  • Skill in performing impact/risk assessments

  • Skill in processing collected data for follow-on analysis

  • Previous experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, audit, accounting/finance, or other relevant positions

  • Understanding of utility industry operations
