Position duration:
The department is recruiting for the possibility of teaching 2-4 courses in over 2 quarters (Fall, Winter, or Spring Quarters), though single quarter appointments will also be considered, dependent upon performance and departmental needs.

Position description

The Department of Theater and Dance at University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a lecturer or lecturers to teach courses in Modern and American Theater during the 2024-2025 Academic Year. Courses include undergraduate courses ("American Drama - to 1940," "American Drama - 1940 to Present," "Modern Theater)," and a graduate seminar on "Theater and Drama of the US."

Work will be in person on the UCSB campus; reimbursement for travel and housing expenses will not be provided. Salary is based on UC's salary scales and depends on qualifications.


Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Applicants must have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. in Theater and Performance Studies or related field, except the dissertation, at the time of application.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

A Ph.D. in Theater and Performance Studies or related field is required by the time of appointment.

Preferred qualifications

Teaching experience at the college or university level.
