The Position

Leading with passion and collaboration, the team will work across the Genentech/US Pharma enterprise to embed I&B into the fabric of our culture and business.

The Opportunity:

As Inclusion and Belonging Lead - Genentech/US Pharma, you will work in close partnership with the Head, I&B US to advance and implement Roche's US enterprise-wide Inclusion & Belonging strategy by:

  • Leading the execution of Roche's I&B strategy within the Genentech/US Pharma organization while aligning with enterprise goals.

  • Managing a dedicated team, including I&B Engagement Experts and DNA Group Partners, and overseeing performance, coaching, and development.

  • Partnering with senior executives (e.g., the Genentech Executive Committee) to embed I&B into strategy, culture, and operations.

  • Serving as a thought leader and subject matter expert on I&B across the business, bringing strategic insight and practical solutions to complex cultural challenges.

  • Building and maintaining strong cross-functional partnerships (e.g., P&C, Legal, Site Services, Informatics) to integrate inclusion into people systems, policies, and decision-making.

  • Supporting legal compliance by embedding I&B into people practices in alignment with applicable federal and state laws.

  • Overseeing alignment of I&B activities across chapters and DNA Groups.

  • Representing Roche in external forums, managing local community partnerships, and contributing to the company's I&B brand and visibility.

  • Contributing to measurement and accountability through development and tracking of metrics and impact indicators.

  • Enabling a network of leaders and champions who can amplify the I&B vision and inspire organizational change.

What You Will Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of progressive experience in Inclusion & Belonging or related fields.

  • Industry experience in pharma, biotech, diagnostics, or a related healthcare sector.

  • 5+ years of demonstrated people leadership, with experience managing and developing diverse teams.

  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate effectively in a highly matrixed, complex organization.

  • Experience embedding I&B into people systems, policies, and operations.

  • A track record of delivering enterprise-wide initiatives and managing cross-functional projects.

  • Knowledge of current I&B best practices, U.S. legal requirements (state and federal), and social and cultural trends.

  • Experience navigating sociopolitical dynamics and facilitating inclusive dialogue in times of tension or change.

  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to foster psychological safety, trust, and belonging.

  • Strong communication, coaching, and storytelling skills to engage a wide range of audiences.

  • Comfort with metrics, accountability frameworks, and measuring I&B progress.

  • Willingness and ability to travel 15%.

Relocation benefits are not available for this posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is$173,000 to $321,200. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
